Jyana and Ben

Last Sunday on October 9,2011 Jyana and Ben got married.
It was a beautiful ceremony right at what I like to call " golden hour" with the sun.
They got married outside on Fort Douglas up at the University of Utah in a cool Gazebo type place.
I was having lots of Gilmore Girls flash backs and kept thinking of the fun times they had in their gazebo. =)
The first picture is from the Genius of Jyana. She got the idea and then got us all to make it happen.
Isn't it so cool?! It's a bunch of paper squares strung on string , then on a hoop. They suspended it from the ceiling of the gazebo. It caught the light and blew in the breeze to make it very picturesque.

Grandma and Grandpa Michilena waiting for the ceremony to start with Ali and Lourdes in the back. ( Justin's aunts.)

Grandma and Grandpa Messenger. This is the first time that Grandpa has ever been in a tux! He looked pretty good too!

Here they come! Jourdan first.

Jyana's Best friend since forever as the Maid of Honor.

The cute little flowers girls and ring bearers. I loved their puffy dresses.

Here comes the Bride!

A little bit closer!
Jyana looked absolutely beautiful and just glowed the whole day.

Ok, so I love this picture. This is Ben's face as Jyana came toward him. It is so sweet and made me the most teary. I love the bit from 27 dresses about how the Groom's face is the main character's favorite part of the wedding and I have to agree. I was working to get that moment captured. So sweet.

Getting the ceremony started. Funny side note, Ben is over 6 feet tall, like well over and Jyana is barely over 5ft. So she brought a stool to stand on so that they could be more level. I am bummed that I didn't get a picture.

Ok so another funny moment. The ring bearer boys were being little boys during the ceremony and I just love Jourdan's face looking at them. They were pretty quiet just busy.

So pretty. They had a poem like thing that they said as their vows and it was beautiful. One thing that I really liked from it was basically saying, I love what I know and what I don't yet understand. Or something to that effect. I really liked that because there is a lot you don't know about someone when you get married no matter how long you have known them. Which in a way is one of the best things about marriage, finding out more and more about your spouse and trying to love all that they are.

The Wedding party...looking not at me. hehe.

The cake! Yes it is wood on top and I think that they made it. The girl one has wire all on for a dress.

First dance, please excuse the lighting on some of the pictures it was a little bit tricky. Their first dance was so special and beautiful. There was a hush all over the room and you felt like you got a peek of the love that they have for each other.

After that we had some fun Latin music and we got taught some Salsa and other dances. It was fun and I actually got Justin to dance with me. =)
It was a great day and we are so happy for them.

It's Autumn Time. Well at least for a minute.

On Tuesday this week I decided to go and visit my family in Logan. They had been raving about the fall leaves and since where I am the leaves left something to be desired. So the plan was to get up there early and go on a nice hike. Well when I woke up it looked something like this.

It was raining pretty hard but I decided to go anyways and hope that there would be a break in the rain. Aside from the almost accident I got into because someone was being a stupid driver it was a nice drive through the canyon. I even got a pretty got shot.

While it was raining and waiting for the kids to get home from school, my mom and I kept our selves busy. We went shopping, made applesauce and had a great time visiting. Finally in the late afternoon the sun broke through! So I grabbed my sisters and we headed up to check out the views.

Ahh, fall. It's so pretty. It's like an image. =)

Goofy sisters. They LOVE having their picture taken. NOT!

The trails were really muddy and so we played around the parking lot.

Pretty good view. I'll take it.

It wouldn't be a trip home without a bit of manual labor. My parents have been doing some serious remolding of their house and they were getting new carpet in their living room the next day. So to save on some money family work project to get all the old carpet up and out of there.

 It didn't take that long.

It was a fun visit and I am glad that I went since now there is snow in the mountains and it is freezing. Fall why did you have to leave so fast?

Circus TIme!

We went to the Circus a while ago and had a lot of fun. We were the only ones around us without any kids but we had fun. It had everything a circus claims it has. Clowns.

Tight rope walkers. They were actually really cool

In this one they are on bikes with a stick in between the bikes. Then the girl is sitting on a chair on the stick. Then they rode the bike on the rope. Totally awesome.

Elephants! They were adorable and really good at their routine.

Tigers! They were a little more temperamental then the Elephants but they were so big!

This part was cool. They did this big show of bringing the crossbow out and getting the guy on it.

Then they lit him on FIRE! They shot him out to a big pad thing across the stadium.

He's still on fire! He's that hard core

We liked the Circus and had lots of fun despite the really annoying theme songs they kept singing.

Books

I am starting an experiment. Since I read tax documents every day at work, I get a phenomenal amount of reading in. Unfortunately, it is not as satisfying as a book.

And then I get home and I want to relax, watching a portion of television.

So this morning, I placed four books balanced on top of the remote and gave myself the charge to read 4 pages from each before any television time is allowed. My wife has been putting me to shame with the good books she has been exploring, and I am starving for good authorship.

The current books are:
The Elements of Style, Strunk & White
The Wind in the Willows, Grahame
Walden and Civil Disobedience, Thoreau
The Book of Mormon, Mormon

If it goes well, I will probably put four books on top of my computer mouse in the coming month!

September Recap

September has been a busy month for us with something going every day. We started the month with this cutie's Birthday. Justin's sister turned 15 and we had a fun Birthday party. She made a cute shirt that said " It's my birthday!" Love it.

The lovely ladies.

Hehe this one makes me laugh. =)

The next party was for Justin's Mom's Birthday. It was fun with lots of good food.

We are so glad to have them as part of our family.

We enjoyed our Anniversary weekend, then the Circus, ( more on that later.) and have just been getting ready for the up coming weddings. I am now an expert chopper of onions, peppers, and tomatoes with all the salsa we are making for the wedding.

Work has been going good, my difficult patient has actually been really good. Justin is trying to get his workers to actually work and thinking of getting an Ipad 2 for a prize for his workers.

It's been a good fun filled month, but I am looking forward to a slower October. How was your September?

Guess where we are going tomorrow?!

The Circus!

The Circus is coming to the Energy Solutions Arena and I really wanted to go. I've never been able to go and kind of always wanted to. So there ya go! My sister and I joke that we aren't our actual age we split it up to make up for our little kid wants and actions. So I'd have to say that this is the 4 year old in me since I am 2 and 4 instead of 24. =)

I am really excited and I think that it will be a cool show. I am hoping anyways. If not I'll probably just be thinking of Dumbo, or shows where there are weird circus or carnival people and that will be fun. =)

Happy Weekend all!
