Thankful days part 3.

Nov 14, 2012
I am thankful for my grandparents. The ones I grew up with and the ones I got after getting married. I spent the day with my grandma and got her a different cane in hopes that it will help her. I gave her a tour of our house and we just had a good day. A little later I got a cute thank you note from her. It was sweet.
Whenever I go see Justin's grandparents they are always so happy to see me. His grandma is always jabbering to me in Spanish and squishing my cheeks or belly. She was awesome last time she says to me , " You look good, no fat. So Beautiful" That is just what a pregnant woman wants to hear. =) They are cute.

Nov 15, 2012
I am thankful for Visiting Teachers, being one and also having them come to me. I love Visiting teaching and do better at making friends that way. I think it's a great program and help people to feel more connected, especially in such a big ward as the one I am in.

Nov 16, 2012
I am thankful for funny t.v. shows and other t.v. shows that I like to watch. I especially love the show the middle on ABC. I think it's hilarious! Much funnier then Modern Family ( and quite a bit cleaner as well). It just has great characters and chemistry between them. Love it.

Who doesn't love The Big Bang? I never laugh out loud as much as I do when watching it. It never fails to make a bad day better. Got to love the nerd humor.

This is a newer show this year on the CW called Emily Owens, MD. It's so cute and I love it so far. The main girl is adorable and I think we can all identify with the struggles she has. It is also a bit medical which is fun. It also has come cute boys in it. Oliver Queen from Smallville and Kostos from Sisterhood of the Traveling pants. I like it. =)

Nov 17, 2012
I am thankful for my awesomely handy brother in law who took time out of his busy Saturday to come and help us with some leaks and other home repairs. He helped us get the swamp cooler off the roof and fixed that. Then fixed the other leak we had and winterized our sprinklers. He has all the tools and know how which we are so grateful for. I am also thankful to his family for letting us borrow him a little longer then anticipated since his family had plans later that day.

Nov 18, 2012
I am thankful for temples and temple days with my husband. We went to the Brigham City temple for a session. We almost didn't get in because someone ( Me) didn't make an appointment but we made it and it was beautiful. It was fun to be able to sit and admire all the handiwork and detail in most of the rooms. It is such a beautiful place and I felt the spirit very strong while there.

Nov 19, 2012

I am thankful for the random person who came and took this away. We placed it out by the street and planned on putting something up on KSL but early Monday morning some guy came and picked it up. I was surprised but also glad because then we wouldn't have to worry about the crazies on KSL. One thing off my to do list.

Nov 20, 2012

I am thankful for Dr.'s and their helpers. I had an appointment and everything is still going well. Even though it was a busy day they were friendly and efficient getting stuff done. Here's to 26 weeks!

One, Two, Three

Sometimes I really like working all day on Saturday. Justin gets bored and then does stuff like this. Our baby's room is coming together and it looks so fun! We still have a lot of paint left over, so Justin may do some more fun stuff. I let Justin do whatever he wants with the room. It's my way of keeping him involved and excited since he doesn't have the constant reminder of a big belly or feeling her move all the time. He has fun with it. I am excited to see what else Justin thinks up.

Thankful days part 2

Nov 7, 2012-
I am thankful for my house. With the snow that we got recently I am super thankful to have a safe, warm place to call home.

Nov 8, 2012
I am thankful for my crockpot. I use it at least once if not twice a week. It never fails to make me excited for dinner and it makes dinner super easy.

Nov 9, 2012
I am thankful for libraries! I love them so much. They are always a safe happy place. Where else can you get so much entertainment for free? Movies, books, music. They have it all.

Nov 10, 2012
I am thankful for a clean house and thankful that I still can clean it. =) It just makes the day go by better.

Nov 11, 2012
I am thankful for my job. With the jobs that Justin and I have, I feel very calm in the crazy of the economy. I am in healthcare and Justin is in taxes, can't do much about death and taxes, so for that I am very grateful.

Nov 12, 2012

I am thankful for my education. I am so glad that I got my school done before getting married and other activities. Some ladies in my ward are thinking about nursing school and my heart just goes out to them. It was hard for me living at home, working part time and being single, I can't imagine doing it with a family. =) I am glad I know what I know.

Nov 13, 2012
I am thankful for my sewing machine. I am thankful for the inspiration found in creating things and in being able to figure things out .

Also, making cute things for my baby girl .=)

Always thankful for my many blessings. More to come!

All in a day's work

So I have been at my job for two months now and I am really getting the hang of things. I can almost predict what the Dr. will ask for and what to do. While I am still learning, because all sorts of things walk in the door, I am liking it. My sister asked if I am using more of my nursing skills, I'd say probably about the same amount. I don't necessary assess people as much, but give more shots, dress wounds, and other various things, so it kind of evens out from my last job.

I have been getting along well with most of the people I work with. I had some drama with another co-worker that was really stressing me out, but things are getting better (especially after I told her to "step off!" not really but kind of). =) There have also been some pretty fun moments that add to the crazy that is instacare. Here are some of my favorites:

Guy comes in thinking he has an ear infection...turns out to be he jammed his ear bud from his headphone in too deep.

Teenage girl comes in with stomach pain, vomiting. We need a urine sample to check and to do a pregnancy test. She didn't want the pregnancy test so....she gave us a water sample instead.

And this may just take the cake. A young guy in his 20's comes in with an abcess on his shin. The Dr. wanted to drain it and clean it up. So he is in one of the procedure rooms wearing just a gown.....with his legs up. I had to get in the room to grab something saw just enough to know....dude was NOT wearing any underwear! Just hanging out. Needless to say I hightailed it out of there. Then the guy came back the next day to get his dressing changed and I took him back and said, " You know...if your pants will roll up so the Dr. can get to it...you can keep your pants on." =)

All the various cute and stubborn little kids. This particular one made me laugh. As I was checking him in, he grabs my name badge and says, " Oh that's you!" yep....

The people in the front check the pt in and their complaint and we've had some funny spellings lately such as:

infeaction
sour throat
high PB instead of B/P

and it never fails that when I ask if I can get the pt anything, someone always asks for a stiff drink. =)

So I am having fun and learning more each time. I was terrified of drawing blood and now I am doing much better. I still get nervous with the thought of placing an IV (I know, I know) I just haven't done one in a very long time. I feel like it's a good place to grow, get my foot in the door and be exposed to more. I love the hours and they will work out great with the baby, so we'll just see where it takes us.

Thankful days

I have a few Aunts who are really good at doing the Thankful status on facebook during the month of November. I wanted to do something similar but with pictures. Mostly cause I like pictures and I need to practice taking more. =) So here are a few days of the things that I am so grateful for.

 Nov 1, 2012- I am so glad that it's
November! October seemed to go on for far to long. I am glad I have a few more things to look forward to in this month. I hope that it goes by fast.
Nov 2, 2012- I am always grateful for this cutie. He is my best friend, and greatest husband. He's been so awesome with all my craziness lately. He does a great job of making me feel special, loved, and appreciated EVERY DAY.
 Nov 3, 2012
I am grateful for Saturday work days. We got a lot done and still had fun together. I also am grateful that I had the weekend off.
n
 Nov 4, 2012
I am grateful for lazy Sunday's and cookies for dinner. =) It was nice to just be together and enjoy the day together.
Nov 5,2012
I am grateful for a fun Family Home Evening with Justin. We made thankful turkey's. I worked a lot of Monday night's in October so it was nice to have a spiritual evening.

Nov 6, 2012
I am grateful for the beautiful fall colors. There are some pretty spectacular colors in the neighborhood lately and it makes my morning walks so much more enjoyable. I love fall.

Also I am grateful that we live in a country in which we can vote and have a say in our laws and country. I am unfortunately not registered to vote but next time for sure. =)

What are you thankful for today?

Baby Update

Here's a little baby update. I am approaching 24 weeks and feeling really good. Getting more and more of a belly and sometimes that's good and other times frustrating when clothes are too tight or it gets in the way. I know that I have a ways to go and I will only get bigger. whoo. I got a pretty awesome head cold last week and am finally getting more over it. I really didn't want to take anything so I have been pretty stuffed up and trying all sorts of home remedies.

I feel the baby more and stronger. Sometimes it feels like I have a fish hanging out in my stomach flip flopping around and then I think.....Do I really have to go to the bathroom right now? =)

I was feeling really cute and happy for church on Sunday so I thought it'd be a good time to take a belly picture. I have been doing well physically during the pregnancy. Sometimes I am a little more on an emotional rollercoaster and poor Justin has to figure out what to do with me. But the good days most definitely out weigh the bad so it's bearable.

I got a little crazy at D.I. the other day. I can't help it the clothes there are only a dollar! one dollar! sometimes two but if it was cute and the right size....why not? I feel a little bit better that now she'll have something to wear when she gets here.

I like to go on walks in the morning and sometimes my hands get a bit swollen and hard to bend. This particular day my CTR ring was really digging into me. Darn that pointy shield. I tried for a while to get it off with no luck. Finally after lots of lotion it slid off. I figured it's probably better to get it off while I can then waiting and might not be able to later. My wedding rings still fit and aren't a problem for now. It's been a few days and my finger has finally left the ring imprint.

We have been working on the room that our baby will be in. All the fairy sticker things are gone and the purple is done.

We wanted a fresh slate to start with so we started with white. Justin has made a cute plan for some of the walls. Bit by bit we are getting things done. We got a crib last week on KSL for a good deal and then we are planning on getting a car seat this month.

All is going well and we are getting more excited. I have my next Dr.'s appointment in two weeks. This one should be fun I have to do the sugar drink and blood tests to see if I am at risk for gestational diabetes. I don't think I am but you never know. Last appointment I was measuring right on track and the baby's heart rate was in the 150's which is just where it needs to be. I feel so so blessed to have everything going so well, sometimes I feel like I need to be prepared for the other shoe to drop with something hard but for now I will be grateful and continue doing what I am doing.

Halloween

All during the month of October Justin was diligently working on his costume. He was making it all by scratch to be a creeper from a computer game called minecraft. His plan was to make it into a big rectangular box that he could stand in and walk around in.

Here's the face of the creeper.

( and then this creeper too, j/k)
He was so excited that it was working and turning out how he wanted.

Done! It looks pretty much exactly like the creature in the computer game.

Justin took it to work on Halloween and walked around the parking lot for a while. There are a lot of computer programers who work in the same building and they all knew who he was. Then when we got it home he had it hanging out in the front yard and lots of kids liked it. One girl actually took a picture with her beside it. Justin tried for a while to hide in it and scare some of the kids that came by.

We surprisingly didn't have that many trick -or - treaters with all the kids on our street. Needless to say we have a lot of leftover candy. esh. It was a fun project for Justin to do. It got his mechanical mind working. We hope that you all had a fun Halloween.
